Poetry Open Mic Night at Pizza Antica

In order to engage the Uni community with poetry, we held an open mic night at Pizza Antica. It was super fun and we read many of our favorite poems as we ate ice cream and homemade biscotti.

I think it is worth mentioning that she is an english professor so the conversation was very lively and she had a lot of great knowledge about the poems we read.














Poems in Napkin Holders

As part of our public poetry project, we wanted to expose people in Champaign-Urbana to poetry. To do this we worked with Pizza Antica to put poems in the napkin holders of the tables, so that customers would be able to read a poem as they ate. The poems had themes that are relatable to a pizza restaurant such as pizza, coffee, and restaurants. There were a total of 32 poems throughout the restaurant.
